Thunder this morning
Shook me out of bed,
And later, dodging pools
On the sidewalk,
A dusty man grinned at me.
Behind him, a yellow machine
Tore at the skeleton of a home
Only the facade remained.
A man across the street remarked
"There's still mail in the box."
Seconds later, the mailbox
Collapsed with the wall.
Concrete steps still stood
But led nowhere.
Shook me out of bed,
And later, dodging pools
On the sidewalk,
A dusty man grinned at me.
Behind him, a yellow machine
Tore at the skeleton of a home
Only the facade remained.
A man across the street remarked

Collapsed with the wall.
